Mechanical and Biological Soil Decompaction for No-Tillage Maize Production

چکیده
Soil structural quality in areas under a no-tillage system is altered after successive crops, where compaction recurrent problem. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect different forms soil decompaction on maize grain production. A randomized split-plot block design with four replications used, 5 × 3 2 factorial arrangement, consisting five mechanical decompaction: ripping depth 0.3 m, 0.5 subsoiling and no-tillage; three crop seasons: 2014/2015, 2015/2016, 2016/2017; two cover crops: sunn hemp pearl millet. resistance root penetration (RP, 0.0–0.40 m), density (0.0–0.40 moisture fresh (FB), dry (DB) above-ground biomass yield were evaluated. or m results higher production but has no Mechanical biological improved throughout seasons by at least 28% above average area region. RP up 3.3 MPa did not negatively affect grain. association between method using crops provided greater resilience preparation carried out years application treatments, resulting corn productivity.

Effect of Different Tillage Systems on Soil Properties and Production on Wheat, Maize and Soybean Crop
Soil tillage systems can be able to influence soil compaction, water dynamics, soil temperature and crop yield. These processes can be expressed as changes of soil microbiological activity, soil respiration and sustainability of agriculture. Objectives of this study were: 1 to assess the effects of tillage systems (Conventional System (CS), Minimum Tillage (MT), No-Tillage (NT)) on soil compact...
متن کاملTillage Effects on Soil Quality Indicators and Nematode Abundance in Loessial Soil under Long- Term No-Till Production
Soil quality indicators and nematode abundance were characterized in a loessial soil under long-term conservation tillage to evaluate the effects of no-till, double-disk, chisel, and moldboard plow treatments. Indicators included soil electrical conductivity (EC), soil texture, soil organic matter (SOM), and total particulate organic matter (tPOM). Nematode abundance was positively correlated w...
متن کاملSoil Management and Tillage
Soil is one of our most precious natural resources. Proper soil management is a key to sustainable agricultural production. Soil management involves six essential practices: proper amount and type of tillage, maintenance of soil organic matter, maintenance of a proper nutrient supply for plants, avoidance of soil contamination, maintenance of the correct soil acidity, and control of soil loss (...
متن کاملEffects of green manure crops and tillage practice on maize and rice yields and soil properties
Improper tillage with no manure may cause a range of undesirable processes (destruction of soil structure, accelerate erosion, depletion of organic matter and fertility). A field experiment was conducted to observe the change in soil properties after incorporation of green manure crops and to find out the residual effect of green manure crops along with tillage on maize and rice yields during 2...
متن کاملComparison of Runoff, Soil Erosion, and Winter Wheat Yields from No-Till and Inversion Tillage Production Systems in Northeastern Oregon
Conservation tillage systems that reduce soil erosion and maintain or increase soil carbon offer long-term benefits for producers in the inland Pacific Northwestern United States but could result in reduced grain yields due to increased pressure from weeds, disease, and insect pests. Our objective was to compare runoff, soil erosion, and crop yields from a conventional tillage, wheat-fallow two...
